The purpose of this job is to maximize the value to the Shell Group from sourcing opportunities of Wells Installed Equipment and Seismic in country. The incumbent will be developing and driving the Country Sourcing initiatives around the Wells Installed Equipment and Seismic.
The incumbent is part of the China country sourcing team,which is likely to grow in future. Through market intelligence of the supplier base,coordination with global category managers and technical advisors,the incumbent will lead the effort to identify potential vendors of Wells Installed Equipment and Seismic and have these efficiently assessed and approved for use by Shell projects,operating units and joint ventures globally. In this role he/she will be responsible to expand the supplier base in China for all relevant categories.
The incumbent will need to secure support from internal and external stakeholders for sourcing from suppliers in country,and in doing so be responsible to ensure ongoing credibility by creating substantial value from commercial deals with suppliers and contractors in country.
1) Target and drive cost reductions in third party spend by increasing low cost country share of spend of Wells Installed Equipment and Seismic
2) Focus on specific categories and supply markets to identify,target and technically qualify new and potentially large spend suppliers
3) Engage internally with Business,Project and CP leaders to create internal demand for low cost country sourcing and newly qualified suppliers.
4) Challenge and shape category plans of Category Managers and contracting and procurement strategies of Capital Projectss to ensure that strategies make best possible use of low cost country sourcing opportunities
5) Support technical/quality specialist in ensuring Quality,technical specifications,HSE meets Shell specifications and requirements. Provide technical and language assistance as required to create and close deals
6) Expand sourcing of Wells Installed Equipment and Seismic in country
7) Contract and Supplier Relationship Management of suppliers
8) Contribute to the team delivery of growth in low cost country spend. Provide functional support to CP team within country
