Openings For Senior Cost Engineer-Shell

Shell Projects & Technology (P&T) business provides technical services, technology capability and helps facilitate major project delivery to both the Upstream and Downstream businesses of Royal Dutch Shell plc. The P&T office in Bangalore is the third Shell global centre for technology after Houston, USA and Amsterdam, The Netherlands -
delivering advanced technical studies, projects and services for Shell around the world as well as supporting Shell activities in India.
P&T provides access to cutting-edge Indian talent and resources to Shell worldwide through its research and development facilities in Bangalore. By the end of 2009, the Bangalore office has employed nearly 700 professionals and has plans to grow to 1000 in the near future.
Shell Projects & Technology, Bangalore, is currently recruiting experienced professionals to join the exciting phase of expansion it has undertaken in India.
Responsibilities: 
·         To deliver standard, consistent but appropriate and robust cost management frameworks and procedures for major,complex projects.
·         Roll-out of the Company standard tools and processes, as appropriate for each project's life cycle development & execution phase. 
·         Develop and Implement Project Cost and Schedule Management Plan.
Implementation of cost breakdown structures (CBS) and their population from the estimate. 
·         Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and document Cost Time and Resource (CTR) sheets for phased cost estimates in line with the Company guidance notes for agreement and sign-off by the CTR budget holders.
·         Provide project guidance for creation of accurate monthly cost reports, identifying variances from the plan on commitment, value of work done, changes and currency fluctuations against approved Authorities For Expenditure (AFEs). 
·         Develop and implement the change management process for projects.
·         Provide guidance on trend analysis and the assessment of change impacts on cost. 
·         Develop and implement Earned Value Management process consistently across projects/sub projects.
·         Participate in peer reviews and other Assurance events. 
·         Contribute to the development of junior staff through coaching and training in cost engineering practices, tools and techniques.
·         Maintain and promote realism in the cost forecasts in the face of commercial pressure and optimism from project teams.
·         Maintain consistency in cost bases through rigorous adherence to the controls processes.
·         Drive and raise awareness of the importance of developing the cost management structure in early project phases. 
·         Responsibilities will include supervision / line management functions and mentoring of 2-3 cost engineers within the team.


Requirements: 
·         Engineering Degree and/or Certification as a Cost Engineer or equivalent experience.
·         Minimum 15 years industry experience in lead cost engineering positions.
·         Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
·         Experience in managing small teams.
·         Fully versed with Cost Control principles and techniques
