Responsibilities:
• Supervise Finance Adviser Team to meet the business objectives and requirements. Develop and motivate staff and address staff development matters. Demonstrate Leadership, Accountability, Teamwork behaviors, pro-actively liaise with and influence both finance and business to achieve end-to-end accounting operation excellence.
• Manage complex interfaces of accounting operations including the Service Level Agreements with Shell Business Service Center (SBSC) where accounting operations are carried out on behalf of Shell China Exploration and Production Company (SCEPCo) and the interface with Project Finance Teams where accounting operations are retained locally.
• Analyze, quantify and advise, on a timely basis, the SCEP Finance Manager and Controller of developments in Group and (inter)national financial reporting standards, policies, processes.
• Provide relevant local accounting and reporting expertise (including treatment and all disclosures) and business input to Shell business.
• Provide assurance over the preparation and submission of the monthly financial accounts for Group reporting in coordination with SBSC who prepares the accounts.
• Provide assurance over the preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts for SCEPCo and Process Owners Council (POC) in coordination with Shell Shared Service Centre (SSSC) who prepares accounts.
• Interface with the Management, Business Finance and Finance Operations on operational matters.
• Manage the preparation of latest estimate and planning inputs (review only) in respect of financial accounting corporate items (e.g. Depreciation, Restoration, audit fees, etc.).
• Manage the in country working relationship with external auditors and work with the auditors to ensure that the audits are conducted in an efficient and cost effective manner with minimum disruption to day to day activities.
• Ensure relevant regional and global process initiatives are incorporated into the SCEPCo’s way of working, including managing the implementation of the changes to the processes.
• Support the enhancement of risked based control framework in accounting and reporting area and promote proactive incident reporting and sharing.
• Represent in Systems Applications and Products (SAP) Business Advisor Forum on continuous company-wide SAP optimization.
• Act as SAP Security Controller to ensure proper profiles are assigned based on various business requirement.

Requirements:
• Proven finance professional (accounting qualification preferred) with at least 8 years broad experience (including governance and business/financial controls).
• Skillful in financial risk management.
• Experienced user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and good understanding of SAP and finance Reporting systems (Garance and Sigma).
• Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and tax rules.
• Skillful in applying Accounting Policies, Standards & Principles.
• Proven ability in managing virtual working and good communication skills.
• Fluent Spoken/Written Chinese/English skills.
• Experienced user of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and good understanding of SAP and finance Reporting systems (Garance and Sigma).
• Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and tax rules.
• Skillful in applying Accounting Policies, Standards & Principles.
• Proven ability in managing virtual working and good communication skills.
• Fluent Spoken/Written Chinese/English skills.
