Benchmarking Support Engineer - Cost-Shell

Shell Projects & Technology (P&T) business provides technical services, technology capability and helps facilitate major project delivery to both the Upstream and Downstream businesses of Royal Dutch Shell plc. The P&T office in Bangalore is the third Shell global centre for technology after
Houston, USA and Amsterdam, The Netherlands - delivering advanced technical studies, projects and services for Shell around the world as well as supporting Shell activities in India.
P&T provides access to cutting-edge Indian talent and resources to Shell worldwide through its research and development facilities in Bangalore. By the end of 2009, the Bangalore office has employed nearly 700 professionals and has plans to grow to 1000 in the near future.
Shell Projects & Technology, Bangalore, is currently recruiting experienced professionals to join the exciting phase of expansion it has undertaken in India.
Responsibilities: 
The position offers a unique opportunity to get a broad view on Shell's worldwide project portfolio,to influence and support a culture shift towards competitive project delivery and to build networks across the Projects & Technology community. The responsibilities include -
·         Develop a benchmarking plan for Upstream & Downstream projects
·         Assist Capital Upstream and Downstream Projects in completing benchmarking workbooks and challenge Projects and external companies on outcomes of benchmarking exercises with the aim to achieve Top Quartile (TQ) performance.
·         Challenge projects and external parties on completed workbooks
·         Coordinate very closely with internal organizations that provides benchmarking and TQ support to projects.
·         Contract user of the external benchmarking contract
·         Improve the performance of a large number of identified major projects
·         Influencing and communicating with a large number of engineering staff
·         Maintaining credibility across many organizational layers,in many different locations and over a very diverse portfolio
·         Work effectively as part of a dispersed team
·         Direct impact in improving Shell’s project performance to become TQ


Requirements: 
·         Project (services) engineer with cost experience in Project Front End Development phases as well as Execution phase
·         Skills in working with Cost Management / Estimation tools
·         Experience with project delivery and benchmarking
·         Minimum 10 years of experience in oil & gas industry
·         Engineering degree or equivalent
·         Good communicator & facilitator
·         Analytical thinker
·         Ability to work across multi-cultural / multi-national environments
