The intern will learn Ixia development processes and get to experience a software development project from beginning to delivery to internal customers.These assignments are all project based,

with clear beginnings and endings. There will be regular review and feedback as the project progresses.

Responsibilities:

Assist in developing a critical piece of our networking test equipment platform verification software. This component would be used to exercise existing API’s in a manner similar to the way our graphical application software currently does. It would be used as a regression test for existing features and a place to create reference implementations for future changes to the API.

·         Gather component requirements from various Ixia software development groups

·         Create and conduct a design review

·         Implement and test the new component

·         Integrate the new component into our existing test suites

·         Produce documentation so that the component can be extended in the future

Requirements:

·         Currently pursuing a BS or MS in computer science or a related technical field

·         C++ and/or C# programming for MS Windows.

·         Strong verbal and written communications skills

·         Has the following work style :  takes the initiative, collaborative, thinks independently, follows through and delivers on commitments and a self-starter

Desirable:

·         Knowledge of at least one scripting language such as Python, Tcl, or PHP is a plus

·         Familiarity with software development tools such as document generators, source code management systems, or testing frameworks is a plus
