This opportunity is for a supplier collaboration engineer (SCE) within the Supplier Product & Process Collaboration (SPPC) Department, Responsibilities in this position include:
Early collaboration with product engineers and suppliers to ensure concepts are designed with manufacturing (DFM), assembly (DFA), and costs in mind and alternative options have been

Evaluating and suggesting alternative manufacturing process' to meet program cost, quality, common part usage, and delivery requirements set forth by the product group.
Lead the interface within/between suppliers, engineering, and purchasing to ensure the above requirements are met.
Identify cost drivers during the concept phase with the design engineer and be able to identify alternate options to eliminate those cost drivers.
Analyze a supplier's (internal and external) manufacturing process, plant layout, work sequence, fixtures/tools/equipment, and material flow to be able to identify/execute product improvements that affect overall quality, manufacturability, and efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in developing the process in any of the following fields; simple/complex machining, light/heavy fabrications (press brake, laser/plasma cutting), castings, forgings, non-metallic, hoses/tubes, truck bodies, stampings, and/or powertrain
Knowledge of manufacturing process', GD&T, tool design, FMEA, and demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams and perform as an individual contributor to achieve project completion
Ability to effectively communicate technical information with teams, as well as, employees in other business units and suppliers
Ability to analyze material flow/internal logistics and identify new process' and manufacturing opportunities
Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Strong negotiation skills
Strong cost estimating background
Strong project management skills
Previous experience:
Shop Floor Manufacturing and Supervision Experience, Tool & Die Room, Estimating / Quoting / Time Study experience, APQP and 6 Sigma. Travel Requirements:
30‰ to 50 ‰ of the time to supplier locations.
