The "routing protocol agent" in Ixia's software architecture is used to emulate large numbers of multi-interface internet routers generating and responding to control-plane messages to and from
other routers. These agents interact with end-user applications and automation scripts through the "middleware" layer.

Responsibilities:
This software developer will work on core code for the networking test applications. Will design and implement high performance software for emulating internet routers using protocols such as BGP, OSPF, LDP, RSVP and others.
Requirements:
BSCS/EE or equivalent experience. 5+ years of hands-on C, C++ development on Windows and/or Linux platforms (Linux preferred), including using Software development toolkits and developing multi-threaded applications. Strong knowledge of Internet protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP and MPLS.. Experience developing distributed applications and asynchronous communication mechanisms; Experience developing commercial software; experience in source-controlled environment e.g. Perforce/Clearcase. Must be a self-starter, accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
Object-oriented design and coding - use of modeling tools (UML based tools). Knowledge of Python, Tcl. Experience working with routers from manufacturers such as Cisco and/or Juniper.
