Job Description:
· This is a unique opportunity for an individual with prior experience seeking new challenges and broad database responsibility. This Senior SQL Server DBA is responsible for Efficacy Systems cutting-edge database technology and our entire portfolio of databases. While the focus of the position is on database administration, with duties ranging from disaster recovery, planning, and implementation to operational monitoring. This candidate will also perform development and programming functions as needed
Position Duties:
· Designs and builds high-volume relational databases for Efficacy Systems applications and systems
· Identifies data sources from design requirements, transforms design from logical model to physical implementation, constructs entity relationship diagrams, data dictionaries and process documents, and manages and implements schema change requests
· Performance tunes and writes code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures, views and triggers
· Supports database platforms and helps define strategies for data acquisition, recovery, migration and archiving
Candidate Requirements:
· The successful candidate will have 6 to 10+ years of relevant database experience
· BS in Computer Science or equivalent
· Demonstrated proficiency in SQL Server database administration, data modeling, T-SQL, and XML
· Prior experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 technologies in a transaction intensive, high-availability clustered environment is preferred
· Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, and outstanding oral and written communication
skills
· Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision are a must
· Aspiring SQL Server Gurus are an ideal fit
· This position is expected to work overtime and holidays as needed to perform scheduled maintenance and respond to system emergencies
